Man accused of gas station credit card skimming pleads not guilty

A 27-year-old southern California man pleaded not guilty this morning to three counts of skimming credit card information from island gas pumps.

Akop Changryan, charged with three counts of first-degree identity theft, will go on trial Oct. 10 before Circuit Judge Michael Wilson.

He was indicted in March with two other California men for allegedly installing skimming devices at four Aloha Island Mini Mart gas stations on Oahu last September. Changryan was arrested Friday after being extradited from California.

Also, arrested in the same case and scheduled to go on trial later this year is Ariak Davtyan, 45, of Los Angeles.

A third suspect, Karapet Kalantryan, is still at large.
