Bar patron arrested in theft of wallet
A man who allegedly stole a wallet that was left unattended on a Waikiki bar was arrested when he returned to the bar later in the evening, police said.
A 58-year-old man told police he left his wallet at the bar in the International Marketplace Sunday afternoon at about 4:30 and returned to find it gone. Police said surveillance video showed another bar patron took the wallet.
The 52-year-old suspect, who lives in a military housing area at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, returned to the bar at about 10 p.m., police said. An employee recognized him from the surveillance video. Police arrested the suspect and recovered the wallet.
