Kamuela man killed in Big Island crash; 2 others injured
A 25-year-old Kamuela man died Wednesday from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash on Kawaihae Road half mile west of the 63-mile marker in Kamuela.
Police identified the driver as Isaiah Lindsey.
South Kohala police said that Lindsey was driving a 1988 Ford multi-purpose vehicle at 5:44 p.m., traveling east on Kawaihae Road when he crossed the centerline and collided with a 2010 Toyota pickup truck traveling east driven by a 27-year-old woman from Kamuela.
Both drivers and a 31-year-old Kamuela woman, a passenger in the Ford, went to North Hawaii Community Hospital.
Lindsey was pronounced dead at 6:32 p.m.
The woman passenger was in serious condition.

The driver of the Toyota was treated and released.
It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol or drugs were involved.
This is the 15th traffic fatality on the Big Island this year compared with 18 at this time last year.
