Pyeongchang, South Korea, took the international spotlight on July 6 when the International Olympic Committee announced that the 2018 Winter Olympic Games will be held there.
Some media call this the Grand Slam as Seoul has hosted the 1988 Olympics.
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, figure skater Kim Yu-na and Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee worked together on Pyeongchang’s bid for the Winter Olympics.
