Woman held for allegedly ramming vehicle
A 22-year-old Makaha woman appeared in District Court Thursday morning to face assault and criminal property damage charges for allegedly ramming her vehicle into another vehicle carrying her husband and four other people, Honolulu police said.
After arguing with her husband on June 4 in Makaha, Lola Silva drove off and picked up a woman, while her 20-year-old husband called a man and asked to be picked up, according to a police report.
The husband and the other man, 27, were leaving in a vehicle that also carried a 10-month-old boy, a woman, 28, and another man, 18, when Silva returned and rammed her vehicle "at a high rate of speed" into the vehicle, police said. Silva’s 18-year-old female passenger and all the occupants of the other vehicle were injured. Police did not release details on the extent of the injuries.
Police arrested Silva on Tuesday, and she was charged Wednesday with second-degree assault and first-degree criminal property damage. She was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, police said.
