Hawaiian Electric Co. crews will continue working through the night to fix downed power lines on Kilihau Street in Mapunapuna after a motor vehicle crash knocked down poles.
Police said the accident happened about 4:21 a.m.
Kilihau Street is closed from Ahua Street to just past Kakaoi Street. People can still walk through the area on foot.
HECO spokesman Darren Pai said four power poles are down. Electricity was re-routed to other circuits and no customers are without power, Pai said.
HECO repairs are likely to be completed by early Tuesday morning. At that time, the cable and telephone companies will be able to make their needed repairs.
