The Mililani Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, at 239 Palii St., will host the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ 2011 District Convention, beginning Friday at 9:20 a.m. All convention sessions, consisting of seven three-day events until Aug. 14, are open to the public and are free.

The morning sessions will begin at 9:20 a.m. each day. On Friday the afternoon session will begin at 1:50 p.m. On July 2 the afternoon session will begin at 1:35 p.m. On July 3 the afternoon session will begin at 1:30 p.m.

About 8,800 delegates from Hawaii will attend the events, to be offered in English and as well as these other languages:

July 1 to 3 — Spanish; July 8 to 10 — Korean and Chuukese; July 15 to 17 — Japanese and Chinese-Mandarin; July 22 to 24 — Tagalog and American Sign Language; July 29 to 31 — Marshallese; Aug. 5 to 7 — Samoan; and Aug. 12 to 14 — Iloko.

The convention theme “Let God’s Kingdom Come!” is based on the Jehovah’s Witnesses belief that God’s kingdom is a real government in heaven, poised to take active control of Earth’s management, to mankind’s eternal benefit, according to a news release.
