Habilitat luau, auction set for June 4

Habilitat will have its 40th-anniversary luau June 4 at King Intermediate School in Kaneohe. Highlights include local entertainment, a silent auction and eight courses of Hawaiian food.

Auction items include vacation getaways, artwork, sporting goods, furniture, musical instruments and electronics. The live auction will be hosted by surfer Joe Teipel. Keiki activities include face painting, inflatable bouncers and balloon animals. Entertainers include Rebel Souljahz, Da Braddahs, Robi Kahakalau and Tahitian and hula dancers.

Festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $35, $15 for children ages 6 to 12, free for children 5 and under. A family packages is $85 for two adults and two children or three adults. Call 235-3691 for tickets or more information.

Canines and felines up for adoption

Petco in Pearl City will host pet adoptions for kittens, puppies, cats and dogs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and May 15.

The animals are from such organizations as the Oahu SPCA, Hawaii Dog Foundation and Joey’s Feline Friends.

The Oahu SPCA will also sell posters with proceeds going to construction of a new spay/neuter clinic at its Kapolei animal shelter.
