Man charged in Aiea shooting

A 31-year-old man is scheduled to make his initial appearance in Honolulu District Court Monday morning in connection with the shooting of a man in an Aiea parking lot last month.

Joseph R.M. Pasion was charged over the weekend with second-degree attempted murder and several firearm- and ammo-related offenses. He was being held at the main police cellblock unable to post $350,000 bail.

On Tuesday, police said they wanted to question Pasion about the April 30 shooting in the parking lot of Aiea Bowl. Officers arrested Pasion at a hotel near the airport early Friday morning.

Police said the shooting happened after security personnel at the bowling alley asked a man to leave because he got into an argument about 1:15 a.m. The man left, but apparently still upset, went to his car, got a gun and shot a man in his 30s, who apparently didn’t know him, police said.

The victim went to the hospital in good condition with a shoulder wound.
