Akaka to be guest teacher at Honolulu school
Sen. Daniel Akaka is to teach Honolulu middle school students about financial literacy.
Teach for America says the senator is to be a guest teacher Wednesday for an 8th grade math class at Kawananakoa Middle School.
The guest lesson on financial literacy is part of Teach for America week.
The regular classroom teacher is Jacob Johnson, who is a member of the Teach for America corps.
The corps is made up of recent college graduates who commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools.
