Mililani starts OIA tournament with rout

Don’t underestimate Mililani.

The Trojans may not boast the powerhouse team of years past, but they pounded out 20 hits to blast Roosevelt 13-4 in the opening round of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division softball playoffs yesterday.

The Trojans take on No. 4 Kapolei, the West’s top seed, in a second-round game today.

The Chargers scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning after the Falcons tied the game then plated three more runs in the next frame to seal the game.

Kaiu Kamai capped a 3-for-3 performance with a single to leftfield in bottom of the fifth inning to drive in Nui Sivia, helping put the game away for the Seariders.
