A 29-year-old man was arrested yesterday in the burglary of two Waikiki apartments beneath his girlfriend’s apartment after police discovered stolen items in a backpack, police said.

The man was seen coming out of one man’s apartment at 1:30 a.m. yesterday, police said. Another neighbor who came home at 9:15 a.m. also discovered that items were missing, police said.

Officers found the suspect at his girlfriend’s apartment upstairs and police received permission to search a backpack near the suspect, police said.

Items from both victims were found inside the backpack, police said.
