Kaimuki upsets No. 1 Castle in softball

Ehlen Awaya tripled in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning and Kaimuki went on to score four more runs to upset No. 1 Castle 8-3 yesterday.

The Oahu Interscholastic Association Red East Conference softball game was played at Castle.

Kaimuki, which took advantage of five Castle errors, sent the game into extra innings with a run in the top of the seventh.

Dejah Faasoa went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Nikki Veongprachanh went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Kaimuki.
