A 67-year-old man died Wednesday night after a single-car crash on Nimitz Highway that may have been caused by his medical condition.

Police said the man was driving a 2009 Hyundai sedan toward Diamond Head just after Camp Catlin Road when he crossed the center median and drove through three lanes of oncoming before crashing into a fence about 6:30 p.m. The man was taken to Kaiser Hospital in critical condition and died at 7:11 p.m.

He had previous heart surgery and was on numerous medications, police said.
