A 80-year-old woman died yesterday of injuries she received when she was hit while crossing Waialae Avenue in a crosswalk in Kaimuki, police said.

The Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as Yasuko Tanonaka of Honolulu. A cause of death is pending.

The accident happened at 11:35 a.m. near Center Street. Police said a car driven by a 22-year-old man hit the woman. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition, but her condition worsened and she died yesterday afternoon, police said.
