Delivery man arrested after Waikiki office theft
Police arrested a delivery man after he failed a polygraph test in connection with the theft of $4,086 from an unlocked safe in Waikiki, detectives said.
Police said the 45-year-old McCully man delivered bank deposit bags to a Waikiki store on the morning of Oct. 15. The man was alone in the office after the bags were placed in an unlocked safe, police said.
Later that afternoon, the store manager noticed that the money and the deposit bags were missing.
The suspect resigned after he failed a polygraph test during an internal investigation, police said.
Officers arrested the man at his home yesterday afternoon. He was released pending further investigation.
