Police say grenade and launcher found in Salt Lake were replicas
Officers responding to a medical assist call for a what police called a "mentally challenged" teenager discovered what appeared to be a hand grenade launcher and hand grenades in a Likini Street house in Salt Lake Thursday evening, according to a police report on the incident.
The Police Department’s Specialized Services responded to the scene and determined the items were replicas.
The teenager was taken to the Tripler Medical Center for observation.
Police allowed people back into the area at about 9 p.m.
