Confrontation turns violent in Makiki

An argument in the early morning hours of Christmas Day over trespassing led to a confrontation and arrest in Makiki, police said.

A 36-year-old man identified as a property manager and his 46-year-old brother confronted a 43-year-old man sitting in his vehicle at 3 a.m. about trespassing on private property, police  said.

An argument escalated and the 43-year-old man tried to drive off and clipped the 46-year-old man with his vehicle’s mirror, police said.

The 43-year-old man reversed and continued to argue, police said.

The property manager then allegedly took out a baton and hit the 43-year-old man in his vehicle.

Police were called and arrested the 36-year-old man for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
