Rain postpones Sony Open amateur qualifier
Rain closed Waialae Country Club today, pushing the Sony Open in Hawaii amateur qualifier back a week.
The 12 amateurs who made the John A. Burns Challenge Cup Amateur Team will play for one spot in the PGA Tour’s first full-field event of the season.
The qualifier was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. today. The four threesomes are now scheduled to go out from 9 a.m. Dec. 27. The field includes University of Hawaii junior TJ Kua, Jonathan Ota, Brandan Kop and Iolani sophomore Lorens Chan, who have all played in the Sony.
