2 men held in robbery attempt near Ala Moana Center
Two teenage men were arrested in connection with a robbery case in the Ala Moana area early yesterday morning.
Police said one man confronted a group of three friends and demanded property from two of them, both 19.
A friend of the two victims, 20, tried to intervene and tackled the attempted robber.
A friend of the would-be robber then began to try to break up the two men and began assaulting the victim, police said.
The would-be robber fled but two of his victims chased him and detained him, police. The man who tried to help the robber was arrested at the scene, police said.

The first suspect, an 18-year-old Kalihi man, was arrested around 12:05 a.m. on Kona Street on two counts of second-degree robbery. The second suspect, an 18-year-old Kapahulu man, was arrested on one count of third-degree assault.
