Military police officer helps rescue two women from assault
An off-duty military police officer subdued a 22-year-old man who allegedly assaulted two women in downtown Honolulu Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police said the suspect argued with his 22-year-old ex-wife and 39-year-old mother as the women were about to drive away from a downtown office at about 4:55 p.m.
The man jumped on top of their vehicle and started to punch the hood, police said. When the driver stopped the vehicle and told the man to leave them alone, the man allegedly began hitting both women, police said.
The off-duty miltary police officer, who was not identified, came to the rescue and held the suspect until officer arrived, police said
