St. Francis, HBA, Leilehua, Kalaheo win
Juniors Harlee Meyers and Kalei Mau had nine kills each as St. Francis advanced to the Division II quarterfinals of the HHSAA girls volleyball state championships with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-13 victory over Ka’u at Kalani High School.
St. Francis (11-8) plays the No. 2-seeded Molokai Farmers (9-0) at 5 p.m. today at Kalani.
St. Francis hit .305 for the match, including .550 in the opening set, while Ka’u (10-8) hit .025 for the match.
The Saints had eight service aces and four blocks, including two solo blocks by senior Ihilani Ching. Trojans libero Kayla Nishimura had a match-high 10 digs.
HBA 3, Honokaa 0
Senior Jami Grumling had nine kills and two blocks while junior Tiffany Thompson had seven kills and three service aces to lead the Eagles over the Dragons 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.

HBA (12-7) plays No. 3-seeded Roosevelt (14-1) at 7 p.m. today at Kalani.
Senior Kayla Kawamura added four service aces for the Eagles, while senior Erika Kaawa-Akiona had 12 kills and two blocks for the Dragons (10-4). For Honokaa, senior Jessica Muskat had six kills and senior Chanice Levita had five kills.
Leilehua 3, Seabury Hall 1
At McKinley High, freshman Ashlee Vaoifi had14 kills and senior Samantha Talaeai eight as the Mules (12-4) beat the Spartans 26-24, 25-13, 21-25, 25-21 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Leilehua plays No. 4-seeded Hawaii Prep (13-0) at 5 p.m. today at McKinley.
Senior Brandi Vierra had eight kills and sophomore Regal Deen-Jackson had six kills and four blocks for the Spartans (7-5).
Kalaheo 3, Waimea 2
Senior Jowell Guerreiro had 22 kills and junior Ashlyn Anduha 20 as the Mustangs (13-3) outlasted the Menehunes, 25-22, 16-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13.
Kalaheo plays the top-seeded University Junior Rainbows (14-3) at 7 p.m. today at McKinley.
Senior Jayme Jacinto had 25 kills for Waimea (12-2).
