Opihi picker’s body found off coast

A Maui County Fire Department rescue crew recovered yesterday the body of a 42-year-old man who had disappeared Saturday in waters off Molokai’s northern shore.

The man and a friend were reportedly picking opihi when they were swept out to sea. The friend was able to make it safely back to shore.

A rescue crew from the Hoolehua Fire Station located the other man’s body yesterday morning about a quarter-mile offshore.

Woman is robbed by armed client

A woman working at an Ala Moana spa allegedly was robbed by a client early yesterday morning after she declined to provide additional "treatments" for cash, police said.

The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, paid an undisclosed amount of money for a treatment, then wanted other treatments performed on him, police said.

The 38-year-old spa worker told the man at about 3:15 a.m. yesterday that additional treatments were not available, police said.

The client then demanded a refund, which the woman provided, police said.

After receiving his refund, police said the suspect then displayed a weapon and took the rest of the woman’s money.

Two 20-year-old men were arrested Saturday night after they were caught and detained by witnesses for illegally entering another person’s car in Waikiki.

The two men were allegedly in the car when the owner and three others returned. The men attempted to flee but were caught by the group — two males and two females, all in their 20s.
