Three wins to open the season has the Hawaii women’s volleyball team ranked No. 4 in the first AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25.

The Rainbow Wahine (3-0), ranked No. 5 in the preseason poll, defeated San Diego, Kansas State and UCLA.

Defending national champion Penn State (3-0) kept its preseason No. 1 ranking. Texas (3-0) is No. 2 followed by Stanford (3-0) at No. 3. Nebraska (1-1), ranked No. 2 in the preseason, dropped to seventh after losing to Florida.

The Gators (2-0) are at No. 6, up from preseason No. 13.

Hawaii hosts Michigan State, New Mexico and No. 10 USC in this week’s Hawaiian Airlines Classic.
