Hiker injured on old Pali highway
A man in his mid-50s suffered a minor injury to his head when he slipped and fell while hiking near the old Pali highway this morning.
The man was hiking just after 9:30 a.m. with several other people who had parked their cars at the Pali lookout and were hiking down the mountain on a trail that follows the old Pali highway. Near the end of the trail the man slipped and struck his head.
Firefighters had to use a stretcher to lower the injured hiker 20 to 30 feet to Pali Highway, where an ambulance took him to a hospital with minor head injuries, a fire official said.
