» Letha DeCaires was a captain when she retired from the Honolulu Police Department last week. A Page A21 article yesterday reported she was a major. The online edition has been corrected.

» A photograph from the 1940s on Page A23 yesterday showed brothers Robert Richardson, William S. Richardson and Arlon Richardson in their military uniforms. A caption said the photo was of William Richardson and his Army buddies. The online edition has been corrected.

» The estimated cost of the proposed release of Tectococcus ovatus to combat the spread of strawberry guava includes $1.2 million for research, "a few thousand" to breed and release the insect and "a few hundred thousand" to monitor affected areas, said Tracy Johnson, of the U.S. Forest Service. A Page A24 article yesterday stated the projected cost was $367 million, which is an estimated cost of controlling the plant through manual and chemical means. The online edition has been corrected.
