Scammers reselling plane tickets
Hawaiian Airlines has issued a consumer fraud alert concerning tickets purchased with stolen credit card information being resold to unsuspecting travelers.
Hawaii’s vice president for public affairs, Keoni Wagner, said Thursday that the tickets aren’t being accepted at airports.
He says the carrier is aware of cases involving cut-rate tickets advertised on the Internet.
Wagner says generally speaking, people should be wary of any tickets offered for sale through word of mouth or classified ads. He says they should only purchase tickets directly from the airline or from reputable travel agents.
Wagner says the airline is working with customers who have been victimized to provide information to the police.
