HAMMOND PLAYS HAWAIIAN BRIAN’S

Concert promoter Doug Allsopp, left, congratulated contemporary blues master John Hammond after Hammond closed his Hawaii tour with an intimate two-hour concert Tuesday at Hawaiian Brian’s. Hammond entertained the enthusiastic audience with songs representing a century of American blues and colorful stories of his encounters with a long list of artists, including Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Mike Bloomfield, Brian Jones and Tom Waits.
