HARRINGTON, Del. >> As top aides spent the week courting Republican insiders at a seaside resort in Florida, Donald Trump was busy railing against them.
Calling the GOP’s primary system “rigged” may seem counterproductive. Yet Trump’s foot-stomping ahead of Tuesday’s primaries in Delaware, Pennsylvania and three other states is a rallying cry to boost voter turnout and an appeal to voters who feel disenfranchised.
The “rigged” system also is a convenient scapegoat for Trump, taking the blame for any future losses instead of his outmaneuvered campaign.
On Friday, Trump told supporters at the Delaware State Fairgrounds that a big turnout in Tuesday’s primary would help foil the party “bosses” he maintains are against him.
A senior aide dismisses the idea that Trump’s rhetoric makes it more difficult to build bridges with Republican leaders.

Donald Trump has not experienced losing and does not understand the word humble. He will experience his greatest lost and it will be in the political arena.
I hope so !!!
That said, while I agree with you, that is, Trump will suffer a great and profound loss, the Republicans will not only be short of the White House, they will lose the Senate (they are defending 34 seats and by any historical measure will not be able to successfully all) but even more compelling and long-lasting, they will see 3-4 Supreme Court nominees successfully confirmed by Ds. Summarily, obstruction has a dear price.
One of Drumpf’s top strategists has bailed from his campaign. Her claim is that Drumpf never expected his candidacy to take off — his intention was to come in #2 so he could brag “look, I coulda been President!” In other words, it was all about feeding his ego.
But now he sees himself as a legitimate candidate (his ego having been fed to bloated-mastodon size) and isn’t gonna bow out. All this ho’omalimali about a “rigged system” is only to cover up his own underlying insecurity and — just like the article says — try to shove the blame onto someone else for his own campaigning shortcomings.
He tried to run a campaign on the cheap, never expecting to get this close. Now he’s 100% bought in, yet he isn’t capable of closing the deal. OF COURSE he needs a scapegoat!

Trump has just begun to fight and is doing rather well.
Mr. Trump has a campaign strategy that seems to be working. He has used his entrepunial skills and showmanship to leapfrog to the front. Like him or not he will likely be the Republican nominee. There is truth the delegate system is non democratic and needs an overhaul. He like Cruz and Kasich are using every tactic they can muster strange as it may seem.
His purposeful attacks against his detractors are tapping into a whole new group of people disgusted and tired of ineffective government.
Breast feeding, what bathroom to use, diaper changing, Obama beach, issues for a middle school social studies class maybe, not Federal Government.
So, all you Hawaii RNC delegates, yes by all means go to Cleveland first class air fare and hotel accommodations, limos, seafood buffets, hookers, but don’t play games. Do what you have to do and that is to put Donald Trump into the White House.
Too bad for the Republicans desperately trying to save their party, too bad for conservatives. and all those conservative talk show hosts blasting Trump. They deserve what they get. Some big conservative donors and Republicans have approached Trump to drop their opposition to him if he agrees to certain policy positions and appointments they want. Trump says no deal because they are running scared– Republicans and conservatives are running afraid because of all the death threats being made against delegates who are now shying away from Cruz because of fear of riots and attacks by Trump supporters!! They will give Trump what he wants even if it means a Democratic President.
He may actually be the next president, too.
Not likely. He has 37% of the Republican Votes cast in primaries and caucuses– those are his strong supporters in that 37%, in the general he will struggle to get enough votes to beat the Democratic candidate whoever it is. This is why all those Billionaire contributors have been giving money to Bush, Rubio, and Cruz.
No, the electoral college and current demographic trends will prevent that from happening.
He will pick up the Bernie votes and those of new voters in the general. Just watch.
Bernie voters will never vote for a simp, a racist and an overtly sexist fool. And to that end, show me ONE poll making such a pillock-like prediction.
