Man who died after stabbing in Kaneohe is identified
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified today a 55-year-old Kaneohe man who was killed in a stabbing Tuesday night as Darryl Tomita.
The results of an autopsy were not yet available.
Police arrested a 47-year-old Kaneohe man for investigation of second-degree murder shortly after the stabbing on Waikapoki Road. The man was arrested about 6:15 p.m. at Kaneohe Bay Plaza on Kamehameha Highway.
Police said Tomita was stabbed during an argument.
Paramedics treated Tomita and took him to the hospital in extremely critical condition with a stab wound to the back, according to Emergency Medical Services. He later died at the hospital.
The incident happened about 5:25 p.m. in the 45-100 block of Waikapoki Road, the emergency report said.

It was the fifth homicide this year, police said.
