A high surf advisory is in effect for the north- and west-facing shores of Oahu, Kauai, Molokai and Niihau, and for the north shore of Maui.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said the advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Monday.
Forecasters expect a new northwest swell to build tonight and into Sunday, resulting in surf of 15 to 20 feet on north-facing shores and 10 to 15 feet on western shores.
