Utility work closes Waikiki intersection

The intersection of Kaiolu Street at Ala Wai Boulevard in Waikiki will be closed to traffic through at least Nov. 23 while HECO installs 46-kilovolt electrical cables under the Ala Wai Canal.

Work is planned between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., although the closure of the intersection is 24 hours a day. Access to Kaiolu Street will be from Kuhio Avenue.

The utility company said parking on Kaiolu will be restricted to accommodate two-way traffic.
