This is not a scientific poll — results reflect only the opinions of those voting.

Absolutely not.
This has got to be one the most ridiculous things to ever come out of one of our elected official’s mouths.

Exactly! How is this any different than Pay to Play? aka Business as usual.
My thoughts exactly. They’ll raise the tax if they can get a piece of it? Quid pro quo? Yeah!
It is not different, it is pay to play and is being milked for everything certain politicians can get.
We should fire the legislators that are extorting this money from the City.
And fire City politicians that are extorting this money from the public and willing to give it away so easily.
You know, Mayor Caldwell…
That’s a start.
There’s really no other alternative. If the legislature wants the money. It’ll get it. The mayor has no power to change that decision.
That said. I’m glad he’s put it up for public discussion. What do the folks on Oahu say?
What public discussion you talking about. And where. There has been no notice about the public being able to put any input about what Caldwell is proposing. Either stop making up stories or prove me wrong by telling everyone when and where.
Well, a lawsuit would put a stop to it because the State can’t tax just one county!
It was Caldwell and Menor, both on the city side, who proposed giving more to the state to get the extension. They are the ones who should be fired.
Krookwell and Manure… perfect love couple…
Crazy weewee making stuff up again.
As of this moment, there are 20 votes for A. Does these people realize that they (Honolulu) will be funding projects on our neighbor islands who do not contribute nothing at all? I can only hope Honolulu legislators have the smarts to know what a scam our mayor is suggesting.
They don’t care. They’re on the receiving end of the gravy train and don’t care where it’s coming from just as long as the money keeps flowing.
Our mayor knows that his proposal will garner votes from the outside island legislators. Our mayor is a scam artist. He should be going after developers to help fund rail.
you mean our part time mayor and part time banker….
Shopo, but full time scam artist.
No he should be going to prison.
STOP THE INSANITY, END RAIL NOW!!!
ALOHA
End HART yesterday. No more corruption. Impeach the mayor. Go out and protest, you lazy kanakas.
The State of Hawaii money, should have many political strings attached to it.
The C&C of Honolulu, should have a “Big Brother” partner.
“Big Brother” should be auditing every penny and who gets it.
“Big Brother” should give its findings, to the news media, for an “Electron Microscope” investigation.
No one has received a “forensic audit”, of the RAIL money, that has been spent thus far.
On Time and On Budget
The Financial Plan is Solid
Property taxes will Not be used
2.7 Billion from Kapolei to UH
Get Tax is Temporary
Over 100,000 will be Riding Daily
All LIES from Caldwell and EVERYONE involved with this Project. When is it ENOUGH ???
Boom!
Good start although even if you had 1,000 reasons “against” this boondoggle the Legislature will still pass the extension.
You forgot; 30% of it will be paid for by visitors.
Who cares?
It’s another lie. Closer to 15% will be paid for by visitors
The main thing is not Rail funding. The main thing is to have those that pay more, get more. Oahu cannot continue being the Bank for all Islands. I don’t know how much of the GET stays within each county but Oahu deserves no more than it gives but more than its getting!
SCRAP THE RAIL PROJECT!!!!!
The legislature should not take bribes from Caldwell. No more funding for the broken train.
This is a sure sign that Caldwell and Menor have no means of financing the rail. Now they are trying to bribe the state into extending the tax.
Oh my goodness ! Ok , sounds good , us outside island guys , we will take it ! Why not if you Honolulu guys like give it . LAWB , Laughing All the Way to the Bank.
LAWB ! LAWB ! LAWB ! LAWB ! LAWB ! LAWB ! HA ! HA! HA! ………. too cool.
Is this a bribe?
Of course not. It is a token of appreciation. Don’t mind the brown envelope it comes in.
Exactly what I was going to post… You beat me to it!
Are the people voting yes crazy?
They’re probably part of the union and/or work for the Mayor. Sad thing is, I’m not being at all facetious about that. Got plenty.
Read the book: Confessions of an Economic Hitman
It explains everything.
This worst city and county Mayor, the island of Oahu has ever had pockets $200,000 a year for his part time job at a bank. Earlier he proposed tax increased on our vehicle weight tax. The same tax, only a few years ago, zapped every driver in Hawaii for a whopping 66 percent. Now he wants another. Caldwell also proposed to raise the fuel tax to fund our bad roads in the islands. The last fuel increase, the same reason was give – today the roads are still bad.
Now this greedy individual want to share the rail tax with the State because he can always scratch our pocket book again.
The general election is over and this Mayor will have another 4 years to mismanage our tax dollars again.
