The call to remove all Democratic incumbents in the Legislature during an election year has become a myth.
In last month’s general election, the majority of Hawaii’s registered voters voted to keep nearly all of them in, despite the rising cost of living and supporting a family in paradise. Well, they deserved what they got. Unfortunately, my pocketbook will be affected also.
With island residents already paying extremely high taxes on gasoline, now with the general election behind them, lawmakers want to add a carbon tax on the fuel tax. You must not forget that Gov. David Ige still wants to increase the fuel tax to repair the roads, the same reason Democrats have been citing for past fuel tax increases.
We must not forget the Board of Water Supply plans a big increase on our water rates this summer.
