From festive crafting and movies to haunted attractions and pet-friendly events, the Star-Advertiser’s Halloween Fun Guide covers a range of fun holiday events.

• Make Your Own Monster, Oct. 28, 2:30 to 4 p.m. Paint an imaginary monster inspired by the book “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, using a technique in first drawing three very different animal sections using various scales, swirls and stripes, and finishing with vivid use of watercolor.
