Kahului Airport ranks last out of 21 in the medium airport category of the J.D. Power 2018 North America Airport Satisfaction Study released Wednesday.
The same study showed Daniel K. Inouye International Airport also ranked low, tying for 21st out of 24 in the large airport category. The airport’s ranking was reported as 22nd in Thursday’s Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
The study measures overall traveler satisfaction with mega, large and medium North America airports by examining six factors: terminal facilities; airport accessibility; security check; baggage claim; check-in/baggage check; and food, beverage and retail.
Alaska Airlines plans to offer basic, bare-bones airfare
Alaska Airlines plans to offer “basic economy” fares that don’t allow passengers to change reservations, pick seats or upgrade to roomier seats. The fares will go on sale by the end of the year.
