Mount Fuji offers up a diamond

The sun appeared to shimmer both above and below Mt. Fuji while reflected on the surface of Tanukiko Lake in Fujinomiya, Japan, on April 26. The phenomenon of the sun appearing to rise or set directly atop Mt. Fuji is known as “Diamond Fuji” and can be observed two days each year. It is next predicted to happen around Aug. 20.
