For the first time, Agu A Ramen Bistro is introducing happy hour with $7.50 shio or shoyu Jidori ramen, two new happy-hour-only selections and half-off discounts on some of the restaurant’s most popular pupu items.
The happy hour runs 3 to 6 p.m. and one hour before closing, from Sundays to Thursdays at Agu’s six restaurant locations at Ward Centre, Pearlridge, Ala Moana Center, Kapolei, Waikiki and Isenberg Street.
Selections include Kicked-up Cajun fries ($2.75), Agu gyoza ($2.75), fried chicken skin ($4.50) and chicken karaage ($5.62).
Created just for the happy hour are a pairing of Agu tacos ($2.75) filled with char siu, cabbage pico de gallo and yuzu aioli, and cold tofu ($6.50) with toasted sesame dressing, green onions and jellyfish, with Thai chili sauce for those in need of spice.
Half-price drinks include Asahi draft beer ($3), shochu cocktails ($3), and wine by the glass ($5).

Future of farming prompts melding of minds over delicious food
Agriculture leaders will gather for a talk on how to bring progressive change to the local industry, at The Future of Food Friendships: How Government, Business and Community Can Work Together, 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at The Modern Honolulu.
Keynote speaker of the evening is Sen. Donovan Dela Cruz, who helped develop the Whitmore Project that is aiming to revitalize agriculture in Central Oahu. He will be joined by Myra Kaichi, senior executive assistant at the state Department of Agriculture’s Agribusiness Development Corporation, and Stephanie Whalen, executive director of the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center.
Good food accompanies the good discussion, with dishes prepared by Keith Pajinag (The Modern), Raymond Locquiao (Herringbone Waikiki), Aaron Siguenza (Tamura’s Tavern) and Guy Smith (Chao Phya Thai Restaurant).
The event is part of Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation’s quarterly Eat Think Drink series.
