The summer Obon season perpetuates the Buddhist tradition of commemorating ancestors during the Festival of Lanterns.

In Hawaii, bon dances have become a cultural event with food, activities, vendors and traditional Japanese dancing open to the entire community.

Here is a list of this year’s events around the state:

OAHU
