Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim was reported to have returned home Sunday to Hilo. Kim, 78, was hospitalized Thursday at Hilo Medical Center after experiencing what his office described as “heart attack symptoms.” The mayor was flown to The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu for further tests and discharged Friday, according to a spokeswoman.

County Managing Director Wil Okabe has been serving as acting mayor in Kim’s absence. Officials have not said when Kim will be able to return to work.
