A missing work furlough inmate turned himself in to the Honolulu Police Department on Thursday, according to state public safety officials.

Keith DeGuzman, 52, turned himself in after he failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Wednesday. He left the center in the morning on a furlough day pass and was scheduled to return by noon. Honolulu police turned over DeGuzman to sheriffs for processing.

He will be returned to the Oahu Community Correctional Center facing the possible addition of an second-degree escape charge. He is serving time for promotion of a detrimental drug and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia. His next parole hearing is scheduled for August.
