Although he will not sign today, former University of Hawaii quarterback Dru Brown reached an agreement to join Oklahoma State on scholarship this summer.
Last month, Brown announced he would play his senior season elsewhere as a graduate transfer. Brown is scheduled to earn his bachelor’s degree on June 29, the final day of UH’s first summer session. Graduate transfers are not required to redshirt after changing schools. But Brown, who did not redshirt in his one season at College of San Mateo and two at UH, has the option of redshirting this coming season.
Brown said he chose OSU because of its football atmosphere and the proximity to family members in Texas. Tennessee and Marshall also expressed interest.
Brown made 22 consecutive starts dating to the fifth game of 2016. This past season, Brown completed 61.7 percent of passes, fourth best among Mountain West quarterbacks.
