In the nine seasons with June Jones as head coach and leading up to Hawaii’s appearance in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 2008, UH won nearly twice as many games as it lost and 26 more than it has in the decade since. Prior to UH’s lone appearance in a Bowl Championship Series game, it had seven winning seasons from Jones’ first year in 1999. His three successors after his resignation following the 41-10 loss at the Sugar Bowl have managed one in the last 10.
