The state issued an advisory today asking the public not to enter the water at Kaimana Beach in Waikiki while operations to remove a grounded commercial fishing vessel are being conducted.

The 29-foot vessel, known as Pacific Paradise, is grounded about 400 yards offshore.

The U.S. Coast Guard has established a 500-yard perimeter around the vessel as a safety zone. State health department officials urge the public not to get close to the vessel. Examples of operations being conducted include: when a tugboat is pulling on the fishing vessel or when the fire department helicopter is overhead.
