When President Donald Trump makes his Hawaii stop in November, it’s hard to imagine there are many sights he hasn’t already seen.
Well, there is one spot: Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, which was known as Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in 1961, when our 44th president was born. And there’s the state Department of Health, where Barack Obama’s birth certificate resides. Before his own candidacy, Trump famously questioned Obama’s birth record. Now he can see the record for himself.
Meet NBA players at Convention Center today
OK, so the Clippers Hawaii Classic Fan Fest is no Pro Bowl, but because Hawaii has no pro sports of its own, any meet-and-greet for fans is noteworthy. That’s why NBA fans might want to head down to the Hawaii Convention Center for today’s fest, a free community event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities will include meeting players from the L.A. Clippers, a keiki basketball workshop, archery, batting cages, inflatables and rock-wall climbing. The Clippers, in town for training camp, will be playing two preseason games against the Toronto Raptors, on Sunday and Tuesday at the University of Hawaii-Manoa’s Stan Sheriff Arena (see etickethawaii.com).
