Police arrested a 49-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed another man near Honolulu Harbor early Friday.
At about 12:10 a.m., police said, the victim, 30, threatened the suspect with a knife at Pier 17. The suspect used another knife and stabbed the victim.
The two men were strangers, police said.
Police said the victim had three puncture wounds. Emergency Medical Services said the victim had wounds to his ribs and multiple cuts on his arms and legs.
He was transported in serious condition to a hospital.
Police said the 49-year-old man was transported to a hospital for minor lacerations to one of his hands. Upon his release, police arrested him on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
