Jack Johnson will perform two concerts at the Waikiki Shell this summer to benefit his Kokua Hawai‘i Foundation.

Hawaii’s Jack Johnson will perform two concerts at the Waikiki Shell this summer to benefit his Kokua Hawai‘i Foundation, which works to promote environmental education in local schools.

Ticket prices for the concerts, scheduled for Aug. 4-5, were not announced. Kokua Hawai‘i Foundation members will get first crack at buying tickets starting Tuesday (for details visit jackjohnsonmusic.com). General ticket sales to Hawaii residents will be held April 22 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. To qualify, purchases must be made using a credit card with a Hawaii billing address and buyers must be registered for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan Presale by 10 a.m. Thursday.

Sales to the general public begin April 23. Buy online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.

Johnson, who grew up on the North Shore, has had a series of hit albums featuring his laid-back acoustic style, with five going platinum and four reaching the top of various Billboard charts. An accomplished filmmaker as well as twice Grammy-nominated musician, Johnson also has made sustainability one of his top priorities, with proceeds from many of his concerts going toward “green” programs.

He will be going on tour starting in June, his first in three years.
