The state advised Hawaii businesses seeking to fill out their general excise tax returns to head online or to district offices before Monday’s deadline.
The businesses that are enrolled to receive booklets in the mail that include the forms — the G45 Opens in a new tab for periodic filers and the G49 Opens in a new tab annual filers — will not be receiving them on time.
Businesses need to file by Tuesday.
Mallory Fujitani, public information officer for the state Department of Taxation, said the mail-out that contains the two forms for some businesses has been hung up because of a delay in the printing.
“I think it is going to take another month before we can get those booklets in the hands of taxpayers,” Fujitani said. “We have forms online. They can file and pay online. We have a PDF online that they can download.”
Fujitani said forms and instructions are available in hard copy at the department’s district offices or online.
“For our Oahu office we have a rack with all of our tax forms on it, and it is located outside of our front door so even on the weekends they can come by and pick up the forms,” she said.
The state Department of Taxation has six district office buildings.
Businesses can pick up the forms at the Princess Ruth Keelikolani Building, 830 Punchbowl St., on Oahu; 54 S. High St. No. 208 on Maui; 35 Ala Malama St., Room 101, on Molokai; 75 Aupuni St. No. 101 in Hilo; 82-6130 Mamalahoa Highway No. 8 in Kona; and 3060 Eiwa St. No. 105 on Kauai.
