Wahine sweep Northridge

Hawaii middle blocker Emily Maglio (19) made a kill past CSU Northridge middle blocker Melissa Eaglin (15) and setter Lauren Conati (7) during the second set of Saturday’s match.

Senior hitter Annie Mitchem put down 12 kills and No. 15 Hawaii swept Cal State Northridge 25-9, 25-15, 25-16 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Sophomore hitter McKenna Granato and junior middle Emily Maglio each added nine kills for the Rainbow Wahine (18-5, 11-1), who won their 17th consecutive home conference match. Junior libero Savanah Kahakai had nine digs for Hawaii, which hit .471.

Sophomore hitter Aeryn Owens had 10 kills for the Matadors (8-16, 4-8).

Hawaii is on the road next week, at UC Irvine on Thursday and UC Davis on Saturday.
