Election exposes generational divide among Hispanics

Donald Trump supporter Mary Celeste Madrid stands by her car, in Pueblo, Colo. A longtime Democrat and Obama voter who changed her registration to Republican last year over the GOP’s support for gun rights and opposition to abortion, Madrid says she’s also had to endure family battles over her support for Trump.

PUEBLO, Colo. >> Donald Trump’s immigration stand is testing a long-term trend among traditionally Democratic-leaning Hispanics. And it’s a trend that favors the GOP.

The longer a Hispanic family has been in the U.S., and the more English they use, then the more likely they are to vote Republican.

In this election, polls show 83 percent of Trump’s Latino supporters are U.S.-born. But his harsh words against immigrants could turn them against the GOP by making even them feel unwelcome.

Overall, polls show Democrat Hillary Clinton leading among Latino voters by nearly 3-1.

As immigration from Latin America slows, an increasing percentage of Hispanics are U.S.-born, but how those people vote remains an open question.

the AP trying to show another lie, because trumps immigration policy is about illegal Hispanics not the legal ones, because the legal ones had to come into this country the right way and they don’t like the illegals coming here illegally because its unfair to them to have these Hispanics live here by breaking our law, so it is 3 to 1 in trumps favor, so he will get the majority of the Hispanic votes. along with the 12% population of the eddies and a small percentage of the black votes, might give trump the white house.

The AP supports and endorses Hilary, of course they’ll print anything to fool the public. Having heard Mexicans on this matter on various talk radio shows that in fact many US Citizen Mexicans support Trump and are in fact against illegals themselves. They feel compassion for their people but are still opposed to the criminal and unfair practice and competition illegals cause. Just based on my sampling analysis tells me that the AP and the Democrats are actually out of touch with the real Latino voter base despite their claims or assumptions.

Why should legal Hispanics oppose immigration stop? More immigrants just means more competition for jobs and another notch up the rat race.

its about illegal immigration not immigration, get your head together and see the difference. and the reason why they don’t like illegals coming in is because they have family members waiting to get visa’s into this country the legal way but they have to wait, that’s the difference why legal immigrant’s don’t like the illegal ones that trump wants to stop sneaking into this country.
